Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf , popularly known by his stage name CDQ, is a Nigerian indigenous hip-hop rapper and songwriter best known for his single “Nowo E Soke”. He is signed under his label, No Struggle No Success Entertainment. He is an indigenous rapper as he raps in the Yoruba Language.
After much anticipation, the singer is here with a new EP which the titled “See The Queue”. It houses 5 tracks and has special guest appearance from Timaya.
The newly released body of work is a follow up to his previous 2020 singles; ‘Vaseline (Mafipara)‘, ‘Say What (PetePete)‘, ‘Show Me‘, ‘Owo‘. The EP has production credits to maestros like Masterkraft, Orbeat, Jay Pizzle and Vice Beatz.
The first song, Could Have Been Worse, is an appreciation song for still being alive despite all that has happened this 2020. From Covid 19 virus to the pandemic and to then the unrest. This is the lead single on the EP and it was released before the full EP was released. The singer sings “it could have been worse, I feel blessed”
Total features Timaya on it. It talks about his journey so far in the music industry. “Who sabi me wen I Dey drive BORA, How many times mo ti kiri nu kingway, Now dem Dey Ala cause I Chill Papi chulo way, Office 10 sun Sha She Lori”.
‘Moyan‘ will make you dance with its catchy beat and goofy lyrics. Lai Lai‘ is another fun track with lovely beat and sounds. It’s a love song with catchy lyrics.
CDQ brought his A game to this EP. “See the queue” comes in Afropop, Amapiano and Afro-Hip Pop/Rap. Talks about the Hustle, Swag and Love.
