Every artiste needs a manager.

You can never understate the work of a producer. He created the song’s sound and structure. He takes a project that would have been achieved at a certain level and magnify it into something big and significant.
A producer’s main role, from their side of the glass, is to oversee the entire production of a project. You’ll see him working with managers, songwriters, and artiste to create an environment where all parties can work together and produce something that gets everyone talking and excited.
He has a strong understanding and grasp of music history both past and present, and can give ideas from this understanding to help get the song to where it needs to be. He has the ear of an artiste and knows how to serve the artiste he is working with to make the best project possible.
A good producer should have instrumental skills, keyboard knowledge, arranging and even the ability to coach vocally. He helps the artiste think through what the song needs at that moment and strategize a way to record it.
A&R (ARTISTS AND REPERTOIRE)
Every activity involving the artiste to the point of a song/album release is generally considered under the A&R responsibility. He is involved in scouting for talents, bringing them in and overseeing the development of the artiste.
If an artiste is unable to write his/own songs, A&R assists in finding songs, songwriters and arrangers for such artiste. He oversees the recording process and music styling.
RECORD LABEL
A record label are companies that market recorded music and corresponding videos. It is advisable for a new artiste to try and get signed into a record label as this means bigger audience and endorsement.
They engage in recruiting a new artiste, developing the artiste and publishing and copywriting the artiste music. There are also involved in promoting and marketing their artiste songs as public awareness of their brand and artiste is the way they make money.
A contract with them either make allowance for the label to undertake the recording of your song or require you bring a completed recording. Just always make sure you have a entertainment law representative with you when signing a deal with a record label.
