Guess what?! We are back this week with another episode of Musicwormcity’s original series, “Why we love”, featuring the artist, Yonda. Yonda is a skilled Nigerian singer and composer who was born Adeniran Abayomi Adetunji on June 11, 1992. Yonda has established himself as a very accomplished Nigerian artist and musician.
Yonda acquired an interest in music as a kid and has remained faithful to this passion ever since. Yonda has established a place for himself and is now signed to Davido Music World record label (DMW), which also houses Davido himself, Peruzzi, Lola Rae, Dremo, Mayorkun, Sina Rambo, B-Red, Deekay, and Danagog. Yonda was discovered and signed to Davido’s record company, DMW, in January 2017.
So, we love Yonda right here at Musicwormcity do you want to know why?
Uniqueness: Yonda rose to prominence with the popular song “Bad Girl Ririi.”. Do you think any other singer could have done that song better? We recently wrote about his latest single Oluwashe, did you read about it? How he managed to make that kind of wonderful song look so easy is so amazing. Dude is talented! Please, don’t argue with us about this, because we sure die!
Consistency: Did you know Yonda started writing songs since his secondary school days? Yea, a lot of Nigerian secondary school students always believe they have some kind of inner musician in them. This dream usually dies with time, but Yonda kept it up and we are grateful. Imagine this kinda talent hiding in the body of a Medical doctor.
Hardworking: Yonda has featured alongside some of the top musicians in Nigeria. It is one thing to be a singer, but it takes a lot for any top singer to have you in their album.
Humble: Yonda is talented, but he still feels indebted to Davido for helping him achieve so much. Yes, he said it, right HERE. We admire that kind of humility, and we mean it.
