Olamide’s Uy Scuti album track list – Music Wormcity

On Friday, 18 June 2021, Olamide released the long-awaited album, UY Scuti. The album has 10 songs and unlike his previous album ‘Carpe Diem which featured the talented singer’s street pop style, UY Scuti explored the R&B, Dancehall and Reggae-fusion genre. The songs in the album include the popular and one of the most listened to single ‘Rock’, Need for speed, Jailer, Julie, Rough Up, Want, Pon Pon, Cup of Tea, Somebody, So Much More and the bonus track, Petty.

The name of Olamide’s 2021 album, UY Scuti means a red supergiant star in the constellation scutum. It is one of the largest known stars by radius and is also a pulsating variable star.UY Scuti can be said to be a metaphor for Olamide.

The album, UY Scuti featured some new talents like Jaywillz, Layydoe and Fave who were recommended by Olamide’s wife. He also did a song with his long time colleague, Phyno. When asked about the new talents he introduced, he said “For me, it’s synergy first and everything else later. It’s not about working with some huge artists with big numbers for me. I would rather do my thing alone and with people in sync with me. I’m all about longevity and what’s going to stand the test of time”.

Olamide’s new album, UY Scuti can be streamed on all music platforms available in Nigeria.
