RESAN ALBUM REVIEW

RESAN ALBUM REVIEW Pin It

Nigerian musician and rapper Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, known professionally as Zlatan Ibile produced his second album Resan which consists of 12 tracks with quite a number of features.

It is highly imperative that one commends the story telling of this great project. Every track carries the potency of sustaining the listeners attention because each track tells a story that is highly relatable asides a few. This has reinforced Zlatan’s remarks of him leaving a lasting effect.

According to his post at the launching of the album, he said “There were predictions that I won’t be here for long, but God and my fans have proven all naysayers wrong. For this, I’m joyous and grateful. I’ve burnt the candle at both ends to ensure that our album is top notch. I worked my ass out to please my fans and not let y’all down. It’s been hard but it’s been worth it. Huge thank you to everyone that worked with me on this album…my team, the featured artists, the producers, sound engineers etc. You guys made it easier for me.”

The first two tracks That Guy, Alubarika ft Buju. Level centers around his journey since he began his career as a music artist, the ups, downs and how he maneuvered his way all through and right now, he is in a grateful space. #agegebreadturnslice

Level and Shakur ft Ms Banks comes after, the both have rollercoasters of emotions in them which makes it quite a sweet melody for the ears.

Polongo ft Bella Shmurda is the first track on the album to to bring up the carefree Zlatan we know with Bella aiding it with his music style.

EGUN

This track is one of the most relatable in the album, he explains the complexity we all experience in romance when it comes to pretense and getting intimate with one who isn’t solely truthful. He takes us on a journey through the lyrics and thereafter prays we all meet our own person who will stay the same from start to finish.

ONE LIFE

This narrates the typical experience of everyone who comes into the city, although at some point one the lyrics were quite contradicting but this is another piece that just tells one to work hard, play hard and stay true to family.

MONEY FT DAVIDO

The song emphasises that the goal is making money and looking for it but there is no gain in looking like a million-dollar buck and having nothing in the account. Settling for less is not something to gamble with hence money must be made.  According to Zlatan, Money stops nonsense.

ALE YI

This sound is what you can call pure groove, the lyrics are stress elevating and the storytelling is smile inviting. The choice of words metamorphoses and syncs well with each other. On this track it’s fair enough to say great job Zlatan.

FADA FT PHYNO AND FLAVOUR.

This is the best track for any guy who wants to woo a girl in this season, it communicates commitment without any form of hesitation and that is one thing anyone would want.

Energy ft Rayvanny and Madjozi.

Energy has a different feel from Tanzanian music artist Rayvanny and South African Star, Madjozi who brought that extra vibe she used in singing ‘John Cena’. This is another track that is for pure vibes, cruise and body shaking. Let the title implies, just pure ENERGY.

SEE ME SO

This track ends the album and honestly just like the lyrics he probably couldn’t explain how he felt completing the project and whether we would listen and love this art piece he wasn’t sure but then, he poured his all and delivered to all.

The construction of the album is really on point and the arrangement of songs is quite commendable. Ibile tells a story in the album and we can be rest assured that this isn’t the end as he has claimed he is limitless and still has heights to attain. No matter your tribe, colour or origin, Zlatan has shown that his songs are something you can relate and flow with.

Have you read Zlatan’s “Lagos Anthem” remix becomes obsessive as he teams up with Kabex, Oberz, Trod and Oladips
