How Omah Lay got signed
The 23 years old singer started singing professionally in 2019 when he released Do Not Disturb and Hello Brother which earned him a record deal with KeyQaad – a new record label at the time in July 2019. This made him leave his hometown for the first time and moved to Lagos – The entertainment hub of West Africa.
Omah Lay’s awards
He released his debut EP Get Layd on the 22nd of May that became an instant commercial success, becoming the most streamed Afrobeats album on digital stores like Applemusic, Audiomack, Deezer, etc. This earned him an award for Apple music Favorite New Artiste of the month of June 2020 in Africa.
Omah Lay also made the list as ‘Best Newcomer’ nominees of the Afrimma 2020 awards. He was celebrated by popular entertainment platform; Black Entertainment Network (BET) as the amplified international artiste of the month.

He recently dropped a new EP which he titles What Have We Done to further emphasize the point that he is here to stay. The EP contains four(4) solid tracks and a bonus one (making it 5 altogether). Omah Lay is signed to Dvpper Music and is the first African artiste to be highlighted by the Africa Rising Initiative launched by Apple Music, a music and video streaming platform.
