Nigeria’s most celebrated music award, “The Headies,” is slated to hold on Saturday the 2nd of 2022 at the COBB Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, in the United States of America.
The new development was announced by the show founder Ayo Animashaun, making it the first time in 16 years that the show would take place outside the borders of Nigeria.
During the special big announcement event, the organizers have disclosed the overall rebranding of the award ceremony itself. One of such announcements was the introduction of 6 new award categories which includes;
- Best Afrobeat Pop Single
- Best Afrobeat Pop Album
- Music Exec. Of The Year
- Best African Collaboration
- African Artiste of The Year
- International Artiste of The Year
Nancy Isime will host the show. We will see award-winning dancer Kaffy, singer Goya Menor, and many more.
The Headies is a music awards show established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognize outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry.
