Wizkid has finally dropped the most anticipated album this year MADE IN LAGOS on Thursday 29th October,2020 at 12:11am. He dedicated this beautiful album to every Nigerian citizen that stood up for what was right during the #endsars protest.
MADE IN LAGOS is a 14 track album and features Burna boy,Damian Marley, H. E. R, Ella Mai, Tems, Skepta. It is a pure work of art with a blend of different genre. It shows that afro artists can blend to any type of sounds and still sound beautiful.
RECKLESS
Reckless is the first song off his album. It’s a vibey Afrobeats that would have you bobbing your head to. He talks about how he has a lot to be thankful for. How he has been through a lot and only came out through Amazing Grace.
It started with him being humble and thankful then towards the end, we see wizkid getting cocky and self confident in who he is and what he has achieved.
GINGER
Starboy features the African Giant, Burna boy in this song. The combination of this two afro beat legends makes you want to keep listening.
Ginger is a smooth and melodious afro beat that will make you fall in love with it right away.
The one part you’d love is when Burna Boy went up an octave towards the end of the song and tool the song to the next level.
LONG TIME
He featured Skepta in this hot Jam. The wait for MADE IN LAGOS was definitely not in vain. Skepta was able to blend with the vibe and with smooth lines and rhymes was able to deliver fire!
The song is about his lady lover, he was emphatic and precised about the level of love he has for her. It is a mutual feeling between wizkid and his lover as we see an exchange between them in the beautiful lyrics wizkid dish out.
It is definitely going to be a favorite amongst lovers. Like the title says.
BLESSED
I have to say, this song makes you just close your eyes and go with the flow. Every artiste featured in the banger album came with their very best act. One thing I love so much is how wizkid is able to relate with each artiste to make such good music.
It’s impossible to listen to Blessed once and move on! You’d would just have to press the repeat button. Damian Marley didn’t come to play. His lyrics, passion and emotion was all on point.
Wizkid talks about his journey before he made it. He goes to show how he has so much to be thankful for. It’s a song we can all relate with because we know his journey from Ojuelegba to international stages now. Big ups for a Job well done.
SMILE
Smile was the first track off MIL that was released. It is such a tender and beautiful song.
The song is about how he would do anything for his lover and how her smile warms his heart.
NO STRESS
No stress was another song that was released before the full album dropped. It is a very sexual song about him and his lover
PIECE OF ME
TRUE LOVE
“My days
When I’m not with you baby
Ooh, your love keeps me warm (Ooh, oh no)
Unconditional prisonner (Yeah), number one (Yeah, yeah)
Your love give me somethin’ I want (Yeah)
Your heart give me somethin’ to feel
You heart give me somethin’ that’s real
So, true love
At the end of the day this is true, true love
Deep in my soul, you’re dangerous, I cannot trust
Still I want more, true love”
SWEET ONE
