If you are a lover of Nigerian Hip-Hop, chances are that you must have come across a song by Fireboy. Adedamola Adefolahan or Fireboy DML as he is popularly called has evolved since he was signed into the record label YBNL in 2018. The Afro-Life singer whose single ‘Jealous’ shot him to fame has since then consistently made a statement in the industry.
He released his first album ‘Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps’ in 2019 and in 2020, he released his second album ‘Apollos’. And his first single in the year 2021 ‘Peru’ amplifies his prowess.
Ayra Starr
Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe popularly known as Ayra Starr is the next artist on the list. Ayra Starr signed to Mavin Records in 2020 where she released her first project, a five-track EP “Ayar Starr“, in January 2021.
She recorded the song ‘Bloody Samaritan’ (a song that made it to number three on the Nigeria Top 100 playlist by Boomplay). The 19-year-old Afropop singer recently released her debut album, “19 & Dangerous.” She has shocked us with her growth in the Nigerian music industry ever since her breakout in 2018.

Another Nigerian artist with a different style of music that shocked us with his growth is Chukwuka Ekeani, professionally called Ckay. He has achieved many notable works worthy of mentions, his 2018 single, “Container” received massive acceptance from listeners.
His other notable songs and collaborations include ”kiss Me Like You, Miss Me”, “Nkechi Turn Up”, “Love Nwantiti”, “Gaddemit”, “Chinekeme”, “Last Call” and “Gmail” featuring DMW rapper, Dremo.
Ckay has been recognised for his remarkable works both as an artist and producer and has also been nominated for Best Song Cover in Top Naija Music Awards, 2017 and Best Act of The Year City People Music Awards, 2018.
After he signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records, he released his debut single ‘Iron Man’.
Rema
Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema, is another award-winning singer with a signature afro-fusion sound that is rising at a pace that we couldn’t have imagined.

His recent single is ‘for the first time in America’. He has constantly given voice to the streets and has a fanbase that call themselves Marlians.
