How To Become A Successful Independent Artist

How To Become A Successful Independent Artist Pin It

As a signed artist, it could be hard breaking through. So, we can’t but acknowledge the struggle that independent artists go through for that big break.

Here are some things that could help you get that big break

PROMOTE YOUR MUSIC:

You are not the only one making music today, so market your song. In the age of the Internet and social media, music marketing has evolved dramatically. That technology has the capability of taking your music throughout the world. But, as an independent artist, understanding that it is up to you to get the word out about your music is a crucial first step.

STOP THE TALK, DO THE WORK:

Hyping your songs will not make people buy it, doing the work will. Telling DJs, OAPs, hypemen that you believe in it will not make them play your songs. They need to know when they listen that you know what you are saying and even when they play your song, millions of people hear it, those millions still need you to convince them.

We are not saying don’t hype your song, we are saying let your hype match the song.

ONLINE STREAMING:

A wise man(we) once said, social media is your rented shop space, how are you selling your wares? Are you disconnected? Are you re-stocking? Is your store well arranged? These are things that need to be evaluated. Connect with your fans, Tiktok has made it easier for you to connect with your fans.

Online streaming platforms have made it easy for independent artists to become millionaires and you don’t want to miss it.

STAY HUMBLE:

Appreciate those who took out time to review your work, appreciate those that played your song at their school party, even roadside DJs.

PLAY ANYWHERE ANYTIME

Be ready to perform your song at almost every gathering, you don’t know if someone in your crowd has connections with a record label that will propel you.

PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE

You need to be able to place yourself at the right place and the right place is on our blog. Take a look at our rate card. We can place you where they will see you and yes, that is what you need. Remember, these record labels don’t go out looking for someone in specific, when they see you, hear you, they come for you.
