We are back with another episode of Musicwormcity’s original series, “Why we love ”, featuring the superstar artist, Wizkid. Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun is right now, Nigeria’s biggest music export. The superstar singer is also known as Wizkid, Wizzy, Starboy, and even Machala.
Wizkid rose to worldwide prominence in 2016 after collaborating with Drake on the hit track ‘One Dance’. This charted at number one in 15 countries, including the US Billboard Hot 100, the UK, Canada, and Australia. In March 2017, he inked a multi-album contract with RCA Records.
He appeared on Beyoncé’s project The Lion King: The Gift in 2019 on the duet “Brown Skin Girl,”. This project earned him a Grammy Award for Best Music Video.
The 31-year-old multiple award-winning singer, Wizkid has been often referred to as the New-school Fela.

Uniqueness: Wizkid’s voice is nobody’s mate! The way he calmly thrills everyone without trying hard makes him so lovable. Though, some might want to argue this, but have you seen the number of awards Wizkid has? Uncountable!!!
Consistency: Wizkid has consistently released hits after hits. Think about it, which of his singles did not top a music chart? Or which of his albums did not break a record? Please, how does this man keep breaking records consistently?
Hardworking: We recently wrote about how Wizkid has a hard drive full of unreleased songs. Some of which might never be released. It takes a lot of hard work for someone to continue to record songs, then takes a lot of time choosing the right one for the public. If we had the kind of wealth and fame Wizkid has, we would not care about anyone’s opinion.
Humble: Some assume otherwise, but if you are the guy that can chat up Beyonce, Drake, Skepta, etc., at any time, you have every right to be proud. Contrarily, everyone that has had a chance to be around him has talked about how humble Wizkid is.
Good Looking: In short, Wizzy is fine!
