August 1, 2021 Be first to comment

The music industry has experienced a major evolution; people have new favourites and the artists keep striving to stay relevant, however, there are some music that just never die. It’s 2021 and ten years later, these artists are still giving us the vibes. Keep reading to know these Nigerian artists and their hit songs from 2010.

1. Wizkid

The top artist on our list is Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid (Starboy). In January 2010, he released his smash hit “Holla At Your Boy” which if you ask us is still a relevant song even in 2021. In 2011, Wizkid was named the Next Rated Artiste at the Headies. In 2012, he became both the Artist of the Year and Revelation of the Year.

2. Olamide

Olamide has been one of the most important figures in the music industry for the past 10 years. He has won three albums of the year awards at the Headies. He has also been named Artist of the year once. Every year since 2010, Olamide has had major hits to his name.

3.Davido

Davido is one of the artists that surprised people with his growth. His music has not stopped making sense to his fans and he has won major awards with endorsements and a one-time poster boy of afrobeat. His major hit in 2010 was “Dami Duro” followed by his debut album, “Omo Baba Olowo” in 2012.

4. Burna Boy

Burna Boy, aka the African Giant, has slowly risen to become one of the best musicians in Nigeria. Following his 2010 and 2011 mixtapes, Burna Boy released his debut album, L.I.F.E, in 2013. The album had hit songs like “Like To Play” and “Tonight”.

Yemi Alade

The ‘Mama Africa’ herself is an afro-centric and Pan-African musician that is not only loved in Nigeria. She has been making waves since the Peak Talent Show in 2009. She released a smash hit single, “Johnny” which has received over 130 million views on YouTube.
