MORRAVEY – MY LOVER COVER ART
Listen Here

Lagos, Nigeria | April 17, 2026
Hailing from Port Harcourt, Nigeria, a multifaceted talent hub that has produced global stars (Burna Boy, Omah Lay), Morravey continues her rise as one of the most compelling voices in the new wave of Afrobeats. Beyond her honeyed vocals, she embodies a radiant presence that mirrors her name “Ravi,” which translates to light, a fitting reflection of her warm tone, striking aesthetic and growing influence across music and culture.

Morravey was first discovered by Afrobeats superstar Davido, who signed her and introduced her to a global audience on his Grammy-nominated album Timeless, featuring her on the standout track “In The Garden.” Her performance and delicate vocal texture quickly endeared her to listeners and the wider music community, establishing her as an artist to watch.

She built on that momentum with her debut EP RAVI, which broke the record for the highest Day 1 EP debut by a female artist on Spotify Nigeria. The project further cemented her breakout moment, driven in part by her viral hit “Ifineme,” which amassed over 1.8 billion TikTok views and earned co-signs from Ayra Starr, Don Jazzy, Fave, Zlatan and more, while commanding Nigerian charts and gaining traction across global Shazam rankings. Her rapid ascent has also translated to major stages and international recognition, including performances at London’s O2 Arena and Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, alongside global media coverage from BBC’s 1Xtra & Newsnight TV, Deeds Magazine, The Native and Trace Sessions.

Morravey’s growing global footprint has further earned her placements across key industry tastemaker platforms like Apple Music’s Africa Rising, Billboard US Afrobeats Fresh Picks, TurnTable Artists to Watch, Shazam Fast Forward and YouTube Foundry. Her latest release follows the success of the chart-topping Afrobeats-meets-Amapiano collaboration “Galorizzy,” alongside Davido, Mavo and others, a record that further showcased her versatility and ease across rhythmic styles.

Now, Morravey steps into a new chapter with “My Lover,” a confident and emotionally grounded single that signals both sonic and visual evolution. The record explores intentional love, reassurance and emotional clarity, delivered through smooth melodies and poised vocal performance. With this release, she leans into a more refined artistic identity, blending softness with confidence while continuing to expand her sonic palette.

Known for her versatility, Morravey moves fluidly across Afrobeats, R&B, Amapiano and melodic pop textures, using her vocal tone as a central instrument. Her ability to adapt across rhythms while maintaining emotional depth positions her as a dynamic artist with range; one that is equally comfortable on intimate records as she is on rhythm-driven collaborations.

“My Lover” also introduces a refreshed visual narrative, aligning with the evolving themes teased across her social media, from “little miss” storytelling cues to butterfly motifs symbolizing growth, transformation and emergence. Together, these elements frame the single as the beginning of a broader body of work, with My Lover serving as the first step toward an upcoming EP.

As Morravey enters this new era, she continues to define herself not just as a vocalist, but as a multifaceted artist whose sound, presence and storytelling resonate across audiences. With My Lover, she reinforces her position as one of the most promising voices shaping the next chapter of Afrobeats.

“My Lover” is available now on all digital streaming platforms.
